This is a chronology of my art career beginning with the first time I entered a painting in a public exhibition.

1998 Honorable mention ribbon first group show Twentieth Century Club Saint Jo, Texas
2000 One artist show, Nocona Public Library, Nocona, Texas (one of the first one artist art shows ever hosted by this entity in its 40+ year history which paved the way for numerous other area artists to show their work at same location)
2000 Accepted to approved roster of "Artists in Education" by Texas Commission on the Arts
2000 Accepted part-time position teaching art at Saint Jo Elementary School, Saint Jo, Texas
2000 2nd place ribbon, oils - group show North Central Texas College, Gainesville, Texas

2001 Painted "A Texas State of Mind" 48x72 triptych which established the style and direction of my work for the foreseeable future

2010 My twin grandsons were born and shows have taken a back seat to loving and spending
time with them for awhile. Still making and teaching art long hours every day, but not getting out of the studio as much as in previous years. This is life and always subject to change.

2013 Donna Rose and I opened The Art Gallery at Texas Kings Hotel, Saint Jo, Texas - Featuring my own personal works and that of other local and area artists

2013 Published fifth calendar of original works

2014 Featured artist/demonstrator at Cowboy True show at J. S. Bridwell Agricultural Center in Wichita Falls with 100% of proceeds from original oil painting going to help support the Kemp Forum renovations.
2014 Published sixth calendar of original works
2014 Closed The Art Gallery at Texas Kings Hotel, Saint Jo, in order to work in a collaboration with Dr. Jim O. Rogers, of Denton, Texas, to open a new version of the Texas Trails Art Gallery on Hwy. 82 in Nocona. Moved downtown art studio to the new gallery.

2015 Produced first set of picture postcards with good sales.

Purchased my first professional digital camera to be able to photograph originals for print reproduction. Up until now, I had outsourced this aspect of my art business.

Texas Trails Art Gallery closed in Sept. Moved my studio back to Kona Mall in downtown Nocona.

Published seventh calendar of original works

2016 Moved studio/gallery to 300 Clay, a nice old historic storefront, in downtown Nocona. Cutting back on public school art teaching schedule resigned from Nocona Middle School position at the end of May in order to paint more. Due to health concerns, I switched to water miscible oil paints.

Inducted into the Nocona High School Hall of Honor

Published eighth calendar of original works

2017 Texas Country Reporter aired a segment on my Texas art and teaching art to young people. The show generated contacts from all over the US.

Won logo contest sponsored by Vicari Car Auctions and Nocona Chamber of Commerce.

Retired from public school teaching in May after 17 years at Saint Jo Elementary School to work as full-time artist and grandfather.
